A shelter for the homeless, Cuthbert Bank aims to provide security and ownership to those who are vulnerable to homelessness. Managed by the South Yorkshire Housing Association, it currently provides twenty-six shelter spaces with other day-to-day amenities to its residents. As designers, our aim was to refurbish the built environment such that it provided its users maximum thermal and visual comfort while providing opportunities for socializing and self-employment via courtyard and facade redesign.
